Ketchikan, Alaska. Part One.

April, 2008

Ketchikan Alaska gets more rain than Seattle and Portland combined. Alot more! Ketchikan gets as much as 12 feet fo rain per year, which is why A: people there get a little funny and work grinds to a halt when the sun comes out and B: its home to some of the world's most lush temperate rainforest. The town is the entrance to Alaska as its the first stop the Alaska Marine Highway ferry makes as it travel north from prince Rupart or Bellingham. Its also an intensly touristy town with as many as 10,000 cruise ship visitors per day to this smll town. The town has a rich art and culture tradition though and brings it out each fall as the tourists leave.
